Ok, I'll put something up too... Thanks, Josh, for maintaining this blog by all your posts...
I have been using this QT material, known as Mettle by YFC for some time already...
Another lesson that I had learnt recently from my QT was from Psalms 3
(1) O LORD, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me!
(2) Many are saying of me, "God will not deliver him."
(3) But you are a shield around me, O LORD; you bestow glory on me and lift up my head.
(4) To the LORD I cry aloud, and he answers me from his holy hill.
(5) I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.
(6.) I will not fear the tens of thousands drawn up against me on every side.
(7) Arise, O LORD! Deliver me, O my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw, break the teeth of the wicked.
(8.) From the LORD comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.
A lot of psalms in the Bible written by David usually starts off questioning God or asking God for help. And the funny thing is that David always ends up praising God, thanking God for his goodness etc. So to me, I believe that (to personal experience too) when we start to ask God "Oh, why is my life like that?" or may be some other personal stuff... we will start to praise God for his goodness and faithfulness to us, even if we sin or did not follow His specific instructions or just plainly, screwed up in your life.
The truth about God being there for us always and forever is a hard one to grasp, but it is true. Jesus says that He will be with us to the very end of the age (Matthew 28:20). God also protects us from harm. "I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence." (Psalm 91:3-4). Just that thought of God being ready 24/7 to hear us gripe, complain, cry, emo, or celebrate about is a really comforting to me. However, it is really hard to remember this when you are in a dire situation, I have to agree (I myself face this most of the time too...).
Just remember, even if you fail God, he will never fail you. If you feel condemned about something, the key fact is that God will not condemn us as Romans 8:1 puts it aptly "Therefore, there is now no condemnation in Christ Jesus." After all, He created us. He has our names inscribed on the palm of His hand (forgot which verse). And he loves us so dearly that He sent Jesus to take our sins once and for all, to make us right with God. God deserves our 110% of our praise. He deserves it all. (someone shout "AMEN!")
Rock on, God!
